October 19, 2024 – The Waraynon community in Austria kicked off the Halloween season with an early celebration at the “Red Night Party,” held in the historic Rathaus Keller in Vienna’s 1st district. The event brought together Filipinos from across Austria, especially those hailing from the Samar region in the Philippines, known as the Waraynons. The festive gathering was filled with vibrant costumes, lively music, and a strong community spirit.

Organizer Cecille Alfonso Basierto expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, stating, “Your presence contributed immensely to the event’s success, and we truly appreciate your support.” The evening was not just a celebration of Halloween but also an opportunity for Waraynons to connect and share their cultural heritage far from home.

The Rathaus Keller’s ambiance added to the night’s charm, providing a perfect backdrop for the revelers who danced and enjoyed traditional and modern Filipino music. The event demonstrated the strong unity and cultural pride among the Filipino community in Austria, serving as a reminder of their roots while embracing their shared experiences abroad.

The Red Night Party was a festive occasion celebrating the enduring Waraynon spirit, fostering camaraderie and cultural pride.
